Student welfare

Our Mission

The aim of the College is to encourage all students to realise their potential, fostering independence and maturity in order to prepare for their future as Global Citizens

We provide a caring, friendly environment for all our students, balancing their desire for independence with their need for security and support. Our students' welfare is at the heart of everything we do.

A personal tutor for every student

Every student has a personal tutor who maintains regular contact to ensure their day-to-day needs are met.

For our international students, we work hard to make sure their first few weeks in the UK are welcoming and straightforward. Most of our students say that within a week they feel confident with the language and finding their way around.

For our UK students, who may be boarding away from home for the first time, we ensure the transition is smooth by providing a homely environment and keeping regular contact with each individual.

A smooth transition from home to College

In order that we may provide a smooth transition from home life to life at College we ensure:

  • a focus on individual needs
  • good programme of extra-curricular activities to encourage socialising
  • regular communication with parents and guardians
  • experience in special learning needs such as dyslexia
  • problems recognised quickly through regular supervision and contact
  • medical registration
  • banking and pocket money
  • police registration and visa renewal for international students
  • confidential counselling and support
  • 24-hour emergency assistance
  • advice on local religious and cultural organisations.
